The Maine Moose Hunt is a tradition that few people ever get to experience. Maine is not only one of the few states that still has the moose hunt, but it also has trophy moose close to the Moosehead Lake Area. Considering that a large part of our business consists of showing people moose throughout the summer months, we tend to find where the moose are hanging out. This is a great asset come moose hunting season. We are a small outfit so we only guide one on one trips. We hunt zone 4 the September week and zones 8,9 and 14 the October week. If you are luck enough to be drawn be sure to book early, before those time are booked.    $2500 (one week of hunting)

The Moosehead Lake Area is well known for it’s small game hunting and has been for many years. The woods around this area provide a great contrast of covers, which make it an ideal habitat for rabbits, ruffed grouse and woodcock. As any experienced small game hunter knows the population fluctuates from year to year depending on many different factors. Generally we have a healthy population of all three species. If you are looking to hunt with your own dogs I can accommodate you as well, just let me know ahead of time. Whether you are experienced or not small game hunting can be a challenge for all. Grouse season runs from October 1 – December 31 and Snowshoe Hare season runs fro October 1 – March 31. We offer full day hunts and can customize a hunt for you.

Coyote HuntingYoung’s Guide Service, Winter coyote hunts

Young’s Guide Service is now offering winter coyote hunts over bait. If you haven’t hunted coyotes over bait you are truly missing out on a great experience. Once the winter snows accumulate the coyotes are more willing to come to the pre-baited bait sites. You will hunt out of heated shacks, which have carpeted floors and shooting benches so you can comfortably make your shot. This time of year, December – March, the coyote’s fur is in its prime so it will also make an exceptional mount. Many times you will also see Fox and sometimes the occasional Bobcat at the bait sites. This is a great hunt, which will extend your hunting season well past November. Special pricing can be done on more than one day of hunting. Call in advance to see how the season is going.
